This was a sponsored project that was sponsored by Miller Zell. For this project, my peers and I were prompted to design a collaboration space between two companies. Miller Zell really wanted us to think about how both companies could benefit from one another in this collaboration space. For my design space I chose Starbucks and Crate & Barrel. The two companies have a similar demographic and compliment each other nicely. My idea behind the design was to create mini vignettes that the customers could walk through and/or work in while they have their Starbucks. All of the furniture within the space would be Crate & Barrel furniture. Each piece of furniture within the space would have a QR code attached to it. From there, the customers can scan the QR code which will lead them to the item on Crate & Barrel's website. My inspiration for this project was IKEA and how they create these little mini environments for their customers to walk through. IKEA is very popular and one thing that always drives people to their stores is the experience. I really wanted to create that same feeling for my collaboration space.
